The process of making a design
Designing a website isn’t a quick or simple process. I just finished the design for Mishu’s restaurant tonight; although there are some bugs to be worked out, I think I will go with this.

Found the leftside graphic in a google search and it doesn’t seem to have any legalities attached to it (thank God). Of course, this design took me quite a while to reach. Take a look at what I had to go through…

This wasn’t a design, just a few colours tossed on the page. The only element that survives is the nav bar – I prefer using symbolic language to guide one’s eyes.

Based on some conversations with Kal, I went to the Internet and used a colour wheel to come up with this. I was satisfied with it, as it appeared “Clean” and “professional”. However, every person I asked was negative about it – it didn’t look “indian”, nor did it have anything special about it.

Today I finally got back to work on it. This is a mess, colour wise, a bit of a transition to see what colours I would have liked. I realized at this point that the “orange / dark blue” thing worked a lot more than the light blue/beige crap that I had before. (I also associate orange with India subconsciously). The gradient makes its first apeparance here.

This was my first step to fixing the last problems I noticed. The menu lettering is too bright, and the side image (which I introduced for the first time) was black – not a colour I wanted to use (for reasons I will explain later).

This is nearly complete. Lettering was corrected, and the side image colour was corrected as well. Mohammad Taib told me the image lost a lot of its impact when I got rid of the blackness, and he is right – it is a bit washed out, as compared to the black on red/white that was there before.

And we are now full circle – this is nearly perfect for implementation.
great job dude, the colors are perfect, very warm and inviting, and the site is simple, yet not empty. You hit a home run with this one, just like all your other sites.
