"Day in court"? LOL

Shoe thrower getting his day in court? What delicious comedy – potentially 15 years for not being a good prole! And of course, the “Protests” on the “Arab Street”. LOL! I can’t remember a single situation where Arabs or Muslims protesting have made any changes to their government. It’s like my dad says, rulers in places like Egypt and Saudi really know how to keep those worthless sheep in their place. (It’s funny how these guys protested so much about the Canadian who was deported to Syria. You’d think a Muslim would be safe in his home country right? LOL! Don’t expect anyone to ever talk about that though.)

murderous If the shoe thrower goes to jail , Iraq is just another in a long tradition of ‘Muslim’ dictatorships. Whether it is Algeria killing its educated elite or Afghanistan’s braindead bearded faggots and drug dealers – all a bunch of worthless assholes who would make fantastic Spathi battle thralls. The funniest part is that the people in each of those countries deserve it – because they tolerate it.

Now that I think about that Maher Arar incident, I don’t understand why the Syrian ambassador / etc… are allowed to pray at Canadian mosques. After all the shrill cries about how terrible Americans are, shouldn’t the Syrian government officials be lynched if they are seen in public? At the very least you’d think someone would post pictures of Syrian diplomats & other consular officials in the halls of a mosque so we could spit in the faces of those assholes if we ever saw them.

Graffiti in Tokyo?

Anti American graffiti in HarajukuSaw some graffiti in Tokyo the other day. I’m just debating whether the “artist” was Japanese or not. On one hand, the swastika has a different connotation in Japan. However, the simple English, the lack of any profanity, and the “cutsy but mocking” smiley face makes me wonder if it is just some local who is sick of the tourists.

Something Cool: Decorated Frames

Japan is pretty famous for how they decorate their phones. Rhine stones and the such are a must (along with 5 or 6 different straps, each with a different character emblazoned). An entreprenuring young lady has decided to apply the same process to glasses frames. The results are actually quite nice. You can check out the full article by clicking here (Japanese only – sorry ’bout that)

Very interesting PBS special on the financial meltdown.

I have a few criticisms, but overall this frontline special is an interesting piece of work.

First, I am irritated that several aspects of Paulson’s past weren’t brought up more. For example, he let his arch nemesis from his Goldman Sachs days, Lehman Brothers, go out of business while lobbying for a bailout when questions started appearing about the health of Goldman Sachs. There is a constant comparison with the Great Depression, but I’m not sure on what basis that is being made. Furthermore, we are supposed to feel sorry for the bankers. This is despite the fact that their schemes cost billions and their attitude can be summed up as follows:

Angellic

Oh, if only the rumors were stopped we could be saved!

That was the real sleight of hand. The episode replaced the central problem (banks having worthless assets) with an issue that is the inevitable result of the first (loss of trust and rumor-mongering). Finally, it didn’t bring up how exactly the second bill passed the house (the addition of large amounts of pork – or looting the American treasury).

Still, I consider it an insightful way into how the American beltway politicians are looking at the bankers.

3 hours on a bike…

I haven’t biked that much for a long time. I basically gave this entire area the look-around. Turns out there is a Don Quihote in Kawagoe that is easier to access by bike from here than from the station there. (Trust me on that – I tried to find it a few times, but chanced across it this time purely by accident).

Saitama really is a lot like Brossard (except with more arcades).
