The Canadian: Montreal to Vancouver by Rail (Part 1)
- Me in Montreal’s grand central train station.
- A VIA station between Montreal and Toronto
- Toronto’s Union Station is the largest train stations in Canada.
- The Canadian, unlike the old Supercontinental, uses the Canadian National tracks to reach Vancouver. (The SC used to use the Canadian Pacific tracks)
- Eating and reading seems to be the only way to spend those 4 days between Montreal and Vancouver.
- On long haul trips, this car allows you to socialize while observing the outside. Parties happen inside as well.
- I heard it was a good movie.
- The Canadian has these metalic stairs to get onto the platforms
I’m back home in Montreal so I thought I’d share some of the older pictures, sans the idiotic text I polluted my old pics with. You are free to use this pics as you please, but please provide me with credit and link to this page.
Pinki: Added 200 new hotels, working on pictures and more.
200 hotels with their amenities and locations have been added to Pinki. I’m working on streamlining the process, but this is a good subset of love & boutique hotels in the Tokyo area. I’m going to strip out the “alpha” warning sometime tonight.
My main irritation right now is getting all the goodness in the backend to the frontend in a reasonable way. I’m not sure how that is working out right now, honestly :grr:
Golden Week a flop.
Boo, it was raining for most of the week. Other than continuing my work on Pinki, I’m probably going to go and meet my friend Jon in Nagoya; or I’m going to get a ticket and visit my parents in Canada (I’m assuming this swine flu nonsense is making the normal timid types stay far away from Canada)
